Leaders in Training (LIT) (Level 2)

The Leaders in Training (LIT) program provides hands-on experience and structured training focusing on developing essential leadership skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving through workshops, and activities, fostering self-awareness and confidence in participants. Topics include conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, goal-setting, and decision-making, with opportunities to volunteer in YMCA programs or day camps.

Program Outcomes

LIT serves as a foundation for future roles as camp counselors (Counsellors-in-Training) or other community leadership positions, additionally youth will:

  1. Gain a positive sense of self and improve their self-confidence.
  2. Acquire a basic understanding of leadership styles.
  3. Increased responsibility and community involvement.
  4. Improved team work and communication skills.
