Halton Youth Peer Empowerment & Employment

Achieve your Leadership potential – EMPOWER yourself as a LEADER. Halton Youth Peer Empowerment Employment (HYPEE) equips young people with the tools to reach their full potential. The program equips participants with leadership skills, life skills, positive mentors, professional certifications, employment training and community leadership opportunities. HYPEE is designed to yield positive outcomes in youth, such as an increase in positive beliefs and behaviours including self-esteem, academic performance, and healthy relationships and a decrease in negative beliefs and behaviours including violence, poor self-image, and deviance. The program strives to provide the support, services, opportunities, and skills to help youth thrive. HYPEE focuses on each participant’s individual needs, assets, and interests. The 6-month program design contains three aspects, soft skills, hard skills, and employability. Through generous donors, grants and community funding, the program is offered at no cost for youth, reducing as many barriers to involvement as we can.
