Swim Admission Standards
The YMCA of Oakville is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience.
The following age restriction admission standards are based on the Ontario Health Regulations and the YMCA Canada Child Protection Policy.

| Over 6 yrs, Non Swimmers/Weak Swimmers | • Must be directly supervised by adult/guardian (min. 16 years of age) in the water within arms reach • Maximum 4 children:1 adult ratio | No Wristband Applied | 
| 6-9 yrs, Pass facility swim test (Front swim with no equipment) | ||
| Leisure Pool Swim Test | • Swim continuously 2 widths in leisure pool • Demonstrate comfort in water independently • Must be supervised by adult/guardian (min. 16 years of age) in the pool area [visual contact] | Green | 
| Main Pool Shallow Swim Test | • Swim continuously 30m in main pool • Demonstrate comfort in water independently • Must be supervised by adult/guardian (min. 16 years of age) in the pool area [visual contact] | Blue | 
| Over 10 yrs, Pass facility swim test (Front swim with no equipment) | ||
| Leisure and Shallow Test | • Ask the green wrist band for swimming in Leisure pool only • Complete the shallow swim test to access the main pool shallow end | Green Blue | 
| Main Pool Deep Swim Test | • Swim continuously 50m in main pool, jump in deep water, tread water 1 min | Red | 
Please note:
- Those with seizure disorders or other serious medical conditions should be accompanied by an individual (min. 16 years) knowledgeable of their condition and responsible for their direct supervision
- Swim test has no age limit. Any age may be asked to demonstrate the swim ability
