YMCA Child Care supports the healthy growth and development of children and promotes a lifelong appreciation for learning. Our YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum prepares our youngest children for academic success in the areas of language and literacy, math, science and technology and the arts. Our before and after school programs provide school-age children with a safe, supervised and active experience that fosters social skills and develops a sense of community.
Child Care Registration
New Family Registration:
Families wishing to register a child must complete and submit an Inquiry Form (see below) to add their child to the wait-list. Please submit one form per child. Full-time spots take priority.
Note: Submitting an Inquiry Form does not guarantee placement. Availability depends on your preferred site. Our staff will contact you when a spot becomes available.

Early Learning & Care
1.5 to 3.8 years
YMCA Child Care Centres operate Monday to Friday from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm, year-round. Programs are full-day, either full time or in some cases part time. Our qualified early childhood educators facilitate play experiences that will help your child develop foundational skills in language and literacy, mathematics, science and technology and the arts. Nutritious meals and snacks are provided.
Before & After School Care
3.8 to 12 years
Before and After School programs operate before school from 7:00 am until school starts and after school until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, September to June. Our qualified staff provide an active, engaging, fun and child directed program. Nutritious snacks are offered before and after school.
P.A. Day & School Break Programs
3.8 to 12 years
Full-day child care is provided for school-age children on school board P.A. days, Winter Break and March Break. Registration for P.A. days and holiday programs is separate from before and after school registration.

Waiting List Policy
If the program is operating at capacity, your child will be added to the centre’s waiting list. There is no fee for a family to be placed on our waiting list. Available child care spaces are to be filled by families on the waiting list according to the ordinance of sequential dates as indicated on the child care waiting list forms. Priority will be given to families wishing to register their child in a full-time space. Families transferring from other YMCA Child Care centres, or siblings who are already registered will have priority for the next available space.
When space becomes available the first person on the waiting list is contacted and asked if they are interested in the space or if they would prefer to remain on the waiting list. If they cannot be reached on the first attempt, contact will be attempted again on the next business day. If they cannot be reached, or do not return our call within 24 hours after the second call, the next person on the list will be contacted. A family has 24 hours after initial contact has been made to confirm their acceptance of the child care space. Families on the waitlist can contact the supervisor at any time to determine their standing on the waiting list.
