Wonka
Let’s introduce you to Wonka who will be our Camp and Program Administrator! New to Canada and the YMCA, she has been a great asset in supporting back of the house camp systems and processing registration.
Wonka shares that her favourite thing about YMCA Day Camp is assisting the campers in their learning and overall growth. She highlights that she most enjoys doing this through the Arts, Sports, and Water activities that we always engage in at camp. Similarly, YMCA campers often note that these activities are also the ones that they enjoy best, along with making new friends.
Like all of our camp staff, Wonka, exclaims “I am very much excited to be a part of Summer Camp 2023’s team.” From the YMCA of Oakville camp team, it is a mutual feeling. Wonka is looking forward to helping in different kinds of administrative activities. What better place to do this than at the Y?
It wouldn’t be complete without a fact about Wonka. She likes to create crafts, play the game Carrom and enjoys an occasional tennis match. What is the game Carrom you might ask? Carrom is a tabletop game of Indian origin in which players flick discs, attempting to knock them to the corners of the board.
