Winnie
Our St. Andrew’s YMCA Site Director, Winnie. Winnie is a returning camp staff member with experience at this camp location, so she definitely knows all the good hiding spots… and where the trees are to hide from the sun.
Similar to the other camp staff, Winnie is currently finishing her first year of teacher’s college at Brock University. Wow, two Brock students with YMCA Summer Day Camp! Winnie reflects, “I have been with the YMCA for three years and have had the amazing opportunity to experience a few different roles.” She spent her first summer as a Camp Counsellor, her second summer as an Enhanced Support Staff, and she is now taking on the role of a Site Director for her third season! Winnie is a prime example of hard work as she demonstrated her commitment to youth daily and strives to achieve even more than the year before.
Winnie mentions that her absolute favourite thing about camp is the water play, especially the St. Andrew’s splash pad. Who doesn’t love splash pads on a hot, sunny day? This location is perfect for any camper who loves water parks just like Winnie. Hint, there may be water balloons! However, this isn’t the only thing Winnie is excited about as she says, “This year I am most excited to experience camp from this new role and to contribute to a memorable and enjoyable summer for all campers.” This enthusiasm brings us nothing but confidence that Winnie will do great things in this role to provide every camper with memorable experiences.
