Wavy

Introducing our Site Director, Wavy who will be located at our YMCA Valens campsite. Like all of our staff, she is an enthusiastic, charismatic, and engaging individual.

Beginning her journey into post-secondary school, Wavy is enrolled in her first year at George Brown College studying the program Architecture. With her by your side, you bet her camp is going to win any building contests thrown their way. Although winning at camp is a goal, Wavy has other, more life-long goals planned for herself. She aims to use her degree to become a successful architect or high school tech teacher. The latter ultimately demonstrates her love for youth and passion to teach.

Wavy, Site Director

Wavy has been counting down the days for Summer Day Camp to begin. She notes, “I am excited to create and make memories with my camp staff and campers. I feel that the best part of camp is everyone coming from different paths of life, and all coming together in one place to have fun and make an impact on each other’s life.” Summer Day Camp is where friends are made, no matter what race, religion, ethnicity, or background one comes from. We teach the values of inclusivity, honesty, and diversity which help shape our campers into valuable members of society.

A fun fact about Wavy is that she completed a seven-day canoeing trip when she was just 15 years old! She was at a camp in Manitoba – what a true explorer! Speaking of the experience, she notes, “It was overall rewarding, but also very challenging. It helped me gain leadership and communication skills that I still use today.”
