Twizzler
Twizzler is the Senior Director of all YMCA locations for 2023. Twizzler has been with YMCA Summer Day Camp for the past nine years. Yes, almost a decade! She has worked in a variety of positions over this time, including Camp Counsellor, Coordinator, and Site Director. This position was basically made for her as she definitely knows how to bring youth together in an engaging, fun, and educational way, right from the moment the camper’s step on the bus.
Twizzler’s background also provides great insight and knowledge for Summer Day Camp as she is currently in her final year at Sheridan College for the Early Childhood Education Program. Prior to this, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Brock University.
A fun fact about Twizzler is that she has danced both competitively and recreationally for 18 years! This well-rounded background demonstrates that your camper is in the right hands with Y staff that is experienced and well-informed in children and youths’ minds, and bodies.
“My favourite thing about camp is the Special Event on Fridays! There is so much to do, with a variety of activities centred around our weekly theme. Plus… nothing better than a yummy food craft!”
Part of the camp’s program is scheduling themes each week and allocating days for special events or activities; ensuring each day is met with new excitement. You won’t find repetitiveness here… especially not on Fridays.
Twizzler is just as eager as our returning campers for Camp 2023. She notes “I am looking forward to meeting all our new and returning campers this summer!
