This position will provide ongoing leadership to effectively deliver the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum at the full-day child care locations and implement the newly developed YMCA “A Place to Connect” curriculum at the before and after – school locations.

This position will assist in the development and facilitation of the annual training plan and support educators in developing their continuous professional learning portfolios. In addition, this position will provide regular in-centre curriculum support visits.

Schedule of Work:

35 hours/week, Monday to Friday, must be available to work between 7am – 6pm


  • Provide support to the development, coordination and implementation of the annual before and after training plan.
  • Coordinate the orientation and annual training plan for YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum and facilitate core and supplementary training modules.
  • Provide in-centre coaching and support to child care educators on a regular basis.
  • Support On-site Supervisors and directors to create goals and objectives based on 3rd party assessments


  • College Diploma or University Degree in a related field (i.e., Early Childhood Education, Ontario Certified Teacher, Adult Learning
    Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with children and families
  • Strong knowledge of the YMCA Playing to Learn and YMCA ‘A Place to Connect’ curriculums
  • Excellent knowledge of child development(0-12 years) and understanding of the Ministry of Education’s “How Does Learning Happen?
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant acts, legislations and frame works, including but not limited to: Child Care and Early Years Act, Child and Family Services Act and YMCA Healthy Child Development
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Valid Ontario’s driver’s license
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • A valid, updated police security check with vulnerable sector screening
  • College Diploma or University Degree in Early Childhood Education, and certified through the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
  • Experience working with young children and families
  • Passion for planning and facilitating high quality play-based experiences for children
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • A flexible, collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
  • Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C prior to first day of work
  • A valid, updated police security check with vulnerable sector screening
