Frozen Wonderland holiday party

Join us for a fun-filled Frozen Wonderland themed holiday party!

Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Ages: infant to 10 years old
Cost: $5 per child

Tickets can be purchased at your YMCA child care centre (cash only), in person at the YMCA located at 410 Rebecca Street (cash or debit/credit)

Candlelight Walk for Peace – November 18

Join us tonight for the Candlelight Walk for Peace at 6:45 p.m.

*UPDATE: Please note that due to the potential freezing rain and slippery conditions, the candlelight walk for peace will take place INDOORS this evening where we will walk the track. Please meet in multipurpose room 4.

The YMCA Community Breakfast for Peace is attended by hundreds of Oakville’s most recognized community leaders, philanthropists, professionals, students and youth advocates.  Over the past 11 years, the YMCA Community Breakfast for Peace has attracted significant attention from local media and has been recognized as one of Oakville’s most inspiring community celebrations.

2019 Keynote Speaker Maggie Doyne: Start Now, Use What You Have
Maggie Doyne is the founder and CEO of the BlinkNow foundation. Maggie is originally from New Jersey and has dedicated the last 10+ years of her life to educating children and empowering women. She was the recipient of the 2015 CNN Hero Award and her work has been recognized by the Dalai Lama, Elizabeth Gilbert, Nick Kristof, Katie Couric and more. And, while her work is focused in Nepal, she speaks all over the world in the hopes of inspiring others to start projects that will generate positive change in our world.

Maggie will discuss her journey from a high school graduate in suburban New Jersey, to the caregiver of 50 children in Midwestern Nepal. Through her talk, Maggie shares her inspiring story and explains why we all have a responsibility to use our talents and gifts to create positive change in our world.
