 YMCA of Oakville & YMCA of Niagara Announce Appointment of Shared CEO
Kyle Barber to Provide Joint Leadership Beginning October 16, 2017

kyle photoOctober 5, 2017 – To further strengthen the YMCA’s impact on their local communities, the YMCA of Niagara and YMCA of Oakville Boards of Directors are proud to enter into a management service agreement for a shared Chief Executive Officer.  Kyle Barber, CEO, YMCA of Oakville assumes the position of CEO, YMCA of Niagara and CEO, YMCA of Oakville effective October 16, 2017.

“Throughout our YMCA’s history, we’ve expanded and grown in Niagara through regional collaborations,” said YMCA of Niagara Board Chair, Terry Suess. “We’re delighted to welcome Kyle Barber to the YMCA in Niagara. This leadership direction creates new opportunities to enhance our service, innovate our program delivery and strengthen our overall impact on the health and wellness of the Niagara Region.”

An extensive career with the Canadian YMCA movement, Kyle brings more than 12 years of CEO experience with the YMCA of Oakville and the YMCA of Northumberland. Kyle also worked in a series of progressive health and fitness roles with the YMCA of Greater Toronto at the North York YMCA and Metro Central YMCA branches.  Kyle has served as CEO, YMCA of Oakville since 2013.

Strengthening YMCA Operating Models is a key strategic focus of the Canadian YMCA movement’s recently published strategic plan, Expedition. With today’s announcement, the YMCA of Niagara and YMCA of Oakville demonstrate their shared commitment to move this strategic focus into action.

The YMCA of Niagara and YMCA of Oakville share a commitment and history to serving community. Collectively, the YMCAs serve more than 105,000 people annually across 168 locations in Niagara and Oakville. Both YMCAs offer health, fitness and aquatics programs, licensed child care, day camp, and community outreach programs. The YMCA of Niagara also delivers employment and immigrant service programming in Niagara.
