Step 1: Completion of Star 4 / Aqua Quest 10

Step 2: Completion of Star 5,6,7 / Rookie, Ranger, Star
This program will focus on stroke improvement, endurance and develops First Aid and rescue skills to prepare participants for the Lifesaving Society Course

Step 3: Bronze Star Lifesaving Course
This course will prepare candidates for the Bronze Medallion. Candidates learn rescue skills, first aid, resuscitation skills, and self rescue techniques, while improving stroke technique and endurance.

Step 4: Emergency First Aid
Candidates will learn resuscitation skills, focusing on choking, artificial respiration and Adult & Child CPR. They will learn how to assess a victim, recognize signs and symptoms, and treat an injury.

Step 5: Bronze Medallion Lifesaving Course
Candidates will learn and understand Lifesaving Principles, Water Safety, and Rescue Education to become a lifesaver. Lifesavers learn to respond to various victim situations that involve conscious and unconscious victims, obstructed airways and shallow water spinal injuries. They will learn rescues that involve tows or carries and techniques for defenses and releases. Candidates will complete a fitness endurance swim of 18 lengths of 25m in 15 minutes.

Step 6: Bronze Cross Lifesaving Course
This course will further develop rescue skills, First aid and CPR Knowledge and Victim Treatment. Candidates will learn the difference between lifesaving and lifeguarding, principles of emergency procedures, and teamwork. Candidates will complete a fitness endurance swim of 24 lengths of 25m in 18minutes.

Step 7: Standard First Aid
Candidates will learn in-depth first aid treatments, and CPR for adult, child, and infants. CPR level C resuscitation award is valid for 2 years from certification date.

Step 8: NLS (National Lifeguard Service)
Within lifeguard teams; this course focuses on developing strong leadership and communication skills. Candidates will develop advanced life-guarding skills, Rescues techniques, Victim assessment and treatment, Fitness, Water Safety, and Accident prevention and responses. NLS award is valid for 2 years from certification date.
