YMCA Summer Camps aren’t just something to do when school’s out; they’re life-changing experiences. In between the arts and crafts, games and activities, something special happens. Friendships blossom, self-confidence emerges, independence grows, and through it all, children and teens build resilience to help them face new challenges as they grow up.
As one of Oakville’s largest camp providers, we are empowering the next generation to lead healthier, happier lives by helping them learn how to handle life’s curve balls. When kids and teens believe in themselves, the whole community wins. And it’s not just us, parents consistently say that our camps are safe, supportive, active, and fun experiences where their children gain a greater appreciation for the natural world, their community, and themselves. They also develop leadership skills that can have a profound impact on their future success.
Unfortunately, not everyone has the same access or financial ability to enjoy these experiences. And with the pandemic only amplifying barriers to a healthy life, families in our community need us more than ever. That is why we are on a mission to raise $100,000 in 2023 for our “FILL THE BUS” campaign. A gift of $300 will send a child jumping for joy and ensure that no one is left behind this summer.
