Each year, the YMCA of Oakville participates in YMCA Healthy Kids Day, a national day dedicated to improving the health and well-being of families across Canada. Our 2018 YMCA Healthy Kids Day event is taking place on Sunday, June 3 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm at the Peter Gilgan Family YMCA, 410 Rebecca Street.

But what do “healthy kids” look like? And what role does the Oakville Y play in helping families improve their health?

To answer these questions, we first need to look at what it means to be healthy. Health is so much more than being able to swim a certain number of pool lengths, more than running a 5k, more than winning the basketball game. A healthy family is a family that is connected to each other. A healthy family learns together. A healthy family feels like they belong to their community.

We are so excited to have partnered with local agencies and organizations for YMCA Healthy Kids Day to bring you FREE activities for the whole family!

Through events like YMCA Healthy Kids Day, we give families the chance to belong and explore new opportunities. Join us on Sunday, June 3 and see how YMCA Healthy Kids Day and discover how your community supports you on your path to health.
